Counseling + Supervision
I provide individual, couple, family or group counseling using a variety of techniques based on the type of treatment specific to your mental health needs.
I am an Approved Supervisor through the State of Washington and meet the requirements of WAC 246-809-134.
I provide supervision to Associate and Licensed therapists. Rates are $150 per hour for supervision. If you know a colleague you would like to share a supervision hour with, please ask for a shared supervision hour to split the cost.
Methods + Specialities
When counseling clients, I focus on the individual and also the context in their lives. Where they go to school, what their family life is like, where they work, our society, culture, sexuality, ethnicity, class; all of these systems play a part in who they are and how they function. Through recognizing patterns in their life and processing events they’ve experienced, clients are able to learn tools in session to navigate and to help create the life they want to live
Additionally I like to identify and use the strengths and tools clients already have (even if they aren’t aware of it) in order to create the quickest change possible.
As for different types of theory within the therapy world, I commonly use in session: Family Systems Theory, Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Humanistic/Client-Centered, Meditation/Mindfulness, Psychodrama, and Internal Family Systems.
